There are limited seating to ride the historic steam cog railway. When the weather is good, the wait times are longer or all trains are sold out. I'd hate to miss out an opportunity so I decided to book a couple of weeks in advanced.
Tickets can be purchased here (click on the photo below):
Breakfast at the hotel started at 07:00 and decided to take the 08:36am train. Arrived at the station at 08:20 and the train was full. If you want better seats, I would arrive earlier. It is a 1hr train ride to Rothorn.

Once you get off the train, walk towards Hotel Rothorn Kulm and you will see signs on the left side.
Hike up to take Chrutere via Chruterepass. Got lost hiking to the top, it was overcast and the trail was wet/ muddy.

Above photo: [11:52am] on the ridge and spotted mountain goat! It was quite fascinating.

Right photo: spotted this beautiful creature!

Above photo: The sun came out a bit while I was enjoying my lunch.
