A Relaxed Hike to Pozzale and a Scenic Journey Back to Venice
Some days call for an easy, laid-back hike, and today was just that—a refreshing trek that took less than two hours but still offered stunning scenery and a taste of the Dolomites' beauty.
Starting our hike in the serene landscapes around Pozzale, we enjoyed a gentle trail with just the right amount of elevation to keep things interesting. The crisp mountain air, the sound of birds, and the occasional view of the surrounding peaks made it a perfect way to soak in the last bit of nature before heading back to the city.
Upon reaching Pozzale, we hopped on a bus to Pieve di Cadore, a charming town known as the birthplace of the famous Renaissance painter Titian. A quick stop here gave us time to appreciate the picturesque streets before making our way to the train station.

We caught the 16:28 TrenItalia train, settling in for the two-hour journey back to Venice. As the train weaved through the changing landscapes—from the rugged mountains to the rolling countryside and finally the shimmering waters of the Venetian Lagoon—it was the perfect way to unwind after the hike.
This trek was a reminder that adventure doesn’t always have to be intense; sometimes, a simple, scenic hike followed by a relaxing journey is just as rewarding. If you’re looking for a peaceful hiking day with an easy return to Venice, this route is a great option!
